An industrial gateway connects devices or networks that use different interfaces or protocols. Depending on its capabilities, it can translate messages, filter or buffer data, and route information between equipment and higher-level applications. A gateway can support connectivity, but it does not automatically make data meaningful or secure; configuration, network segmentation and data governance remain important.<\/p>\n\n\n
