Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a standard graphical language for describing how a business process works. A diagram can show activities, events, decisions, hand-offs and the people or systems involved. In manufacturing, BPMN can help map approval, deviation or change-control workflows before they are configured in software. A BPMN diagram explains a process; by itself it does not prove that the workflow is implemented, validated or followed.
