Edge AI runs an artificial intelligence model on or near the device that produces or uses the data, such as a machine, gateway or local server. Processing close to the source can reduce latency and reliance on network connections. Model performance, updates, security and monitoring still need to be managed, especially when outputs influence production decisions.
