Looking for a solution?

Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) is the sterilization of suitable process equipment and pipework without dismantling them. A defined cycle, often using steam, exposes the relevant surfaces to validated conditions and records critical parameters such as temperature, pressure and time. SIP is distinct from Clean-in-Place (CIP): cleaning removes residues, while sterilization aims to inactivate microorganisms to the required level. The cycle and acceptance criteria depend on the equipment, product and applicable quality requirements.
