Cloud Manufacturing Software

One secure platform for all your production data. Accevo Cloud MES connects machines, operators and business systems in the cloud, so you can run, monitor and improve production from anywhere.

Built on cloud computing and Industry 4.0 principles, cloud manufacturing lets you deploy a full manufacturing execution system with no servers on site. Start on one production line and scale to every factory in your group.

What is cloud manufacturing?

Cloud manufacturing is the application of cloud computing to production: machines, people and business systems connect, share and manage data over the Internet instead of on local servers. A cloud manufacturing execution system (cloud MES) takes the software that runs your shop floor – work orders, traceability, OEE, quality – and delivers it as SaaS manufacturing software. Your team opens a browser, logs in, and every plant works on the same live data.

Because it lives in the cloud, the same platform integrates naturally with Cloud ERP, SCADA and analytics services. The result: faster deployment, lower upfront cost, and production data available to every decision-maker, from the operator panel to the boardroom.

Benefits of cloud manufacturing

Cloud-based MES changes the economics of factory digitalisation: instead of a long IT project, you get a subscription that is live in weeks and grows with you. These are the benefits our customers value most.

Scalability on demand

Connect an unlimited number of lines, machines and factories. Cloud resources grow with your needs, so extending MES to a new site is a configuration step, not a hardware project.

Access from anywhere

Real-time production data at any time, from any place. Operators work at the shop-floor panel while plant and group management follow live dashboards remotely.

Lower upfront costs

No servers to buy, no network infrastructure project, no capex approval cycle. A SaaS subscription replaces hardware purchase, upgrades and ongoing server maintenance.

Better use of IT resources

Deployment requires no on-site hardware and minimal IT involvement. Updates, patches and security hardening are handled in the cloud, freeing your IT team for higher-value work.

High availability & disaster recovery

Zone-level data redundancy, automatic backups and self-healing infrastructure deliver availability levels that would be a major investment to build on premise.

AI and analytics ready

BI, AI and advanced reporting services plug into your cloud MES as an extension, not an integration project – your production data is already where those tools live.

Deployment options: cloud, hybrid or on-premise

There is no single right answer for every plant. Accevo runs in the deployment model that fits your IT strategy, connectivity and compliance requirements – and you can change the model as your needs evolve.

Cloud (SaaS)

The full MES delivered as SaaS manufacturing software on AWS or Microsoft Azure. Fastest to deploy, lowest upfront cost, always on the latest version. The provider operates the infrastructure; you focus on production.

Hybrid

Time-critical execution and machine connectivity stay close to the line, while analytics, reporting and multi-site data live in the cloud. Keep sensitive data on premise for compliance and still get cloud scalability.

On-premise

The complete system runs in your own data center. Maximum customization and full physical control of data – at the price of your own hardware, IT support and upgrade cycles.

Cloud vs on-premise MES: an honest comparison

Cloud-based MES is typically cheaper to start, easier to run and faster to scale. You trade some customization depth for speed, and you must verify connectivity, latency and data-residency requirements for your site.

On-premise MES gives you maximum control and customization, but you carry the cost: infrastructure, IT support, security updates and every future upgrade are your responsibility.

Architecture & security: built on AWS and Microsoft Azure

Accevo’s cloud-based manufacturing platform runs on AWS and Microsoft Azure data centers, with EU regions available for data residency. A web interface, secured APIs and IIoT gateways connect your shop floor to the cloud – here is how we keep it fast and safe.

Multi-tenant platform, isolated data

The platform is multi-tenant for efficiency, but every customer’s production data is logically isolated, encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by role-based access control and unique user authentication.

Disaster recovery built in

Automatic periodic backups, zone-level data redundancy and self-healing clusters. If a node fails, the service is recreated automatically; in an extreme case a whole new cluster is deployed from CI/CD.

Edge buffering against latency

An edge buffer at the plant stores production data whenever the connection drops, then synchronises automatically. Machines keep running and no data is lost – the classic cloud latency concern, solved by design.

GDPR & data compliance

Production data is sensitive by definition – recipes, output, quality records. Our cloud MES is designed so you can answer your auditor’s and your DPO’s questions with documents, not promises.

GDPR-ready by design

EU data residency options, data processing agreements, and controlled retention and erasure workflows. Personal data of operators and users is minimised and processed according to GDPR requirements.

ISO 27001 certified

Accevo holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security management, alongside ISO 9001 quality management – independently audited, with certificates available for your supplier qualification.

Encryption & access control

Data encrypted in transit and at rest, role-based access, unique user authentication and complete audit trails of who did what and when – data security controls applied as standard, not as an option.

Your data stays yours

Data ownership is contractual: your production data belongs to you. Export it at any time in open formats – to your data warehouse, Cloud ERP or BI tools – with no vendor lock-in.

Scalability & performance without the infrastructure project

Start with OEE monitoring on one line and grow into a full cloud manufacturing execution system across every site. Cloud resources are allocated on demand, so performance stays consistent when production ramps up – and thanks to edge buffering, shop-floor response times stay fast even when the network is not. Accevo Pharma MES is built for that reality – batch processing, LIMS integration and real-time quality checks across drugs, vaccines, supplements and cosmetics. You make decisions on real production data and correlate it with utilities usage.

Your migration path to cloud manufacturing

Moving MES to the cloud is a staged project, not a leap of faith. A typical Accevo rollout follows four steps – and the first results arrive with the pilot, not at the end.

1. Assess & pilot

We audit your processes, machines and connectivity, then launch a pilot on one line. You see live cloud MES data from your own production within weeks.

2. Connect & configure

Machines are connected through IIoT gateways using OPC UA, MQTT and native PLC protocols. The platform is integrated with your ERP, SCADA and quality systems.

3. Validate & go live

Data validation, operator training and a parallel run against your current process. For regulated industries, validation documentation is part of the delivery.

4. Scale & optimize

Roll out to further lines and sites from the same cloud platform, then extend with AI, BI and reporting modules as your teams find new questions to answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cloud manufacturing software, explained

A cloud MES is hosted by the provider and delivered as SaaS: you pay a subscription, deploy in weeks and get updates automatically. An on-premise MES runs on your own servers: higher upfront cost and IT effort, but maximum customization and physical control of data. Hybrid models combine both.

Yes - with the right provider and setup. Accevo offers EU data residency on AWS and Microsoft Azure, data processing agreements, encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control and audit trails. Accevo is ISO/IEC 27001 certified for information security management.

Nothing is lost. An edge buffer at the plant stores all production data locally during an outage and synchronises with the cloud automatically once the connection returns. Machines and operator stations keep working throughout.

You do. Data ownership is defined contractually: your production data belongs to your company, and you can export it at any time in open formats to your own data warehouse or BI tools. Always verify this point with any MES provider before signing.

Cloud MES is priced as a subscription that depends on the number of lines, machines and users, plus data volume and required modules. There is no hardware to buy, which usually makes total first-year cost significantly lower than on-premise. Contact us for a quote based on your plant.

A pilot on one production line typically delivers live data within weeks. A full rollout - machine connectivity, ERP/SCADA integration, validation and training - is a staged project measured in months, not years, and each stage delivers usable results.

Yes. Accevo integrates with Cloud ERP and on-premise ERP systems, SCADA, quality systems and data platforms such as Azure Synapse or Snowflake, using standard protocols and APIs (OPC UA, MQTT, REST).
